Easy Stamped Easel Place Cards

Stamping skills can be used for more than just greeting cards! How about using your stamps to create Christmas table place cards? In past years, I have just stamped a small holiday image of some kind on a little rectangle of decorative cardstock, written or typed the name of the dish on the card and laid it on the Christmas Eve buffet table near each food dish. It’s simple, quick to do and uses small bits of cardstock that would otherwise go to waste. This year, I have decided to refine things just a bit by creating little Mini Easel Place Cards for each food on the buffet table. With a table full of food, this might sound like a lot of work, but easel cards are surprisingly quick and easy to create. The only trick is figuring out the measurements for a smaller version. (And I’ll tell you a secret: that’s easy too!)

No, I didn’t fall off the face of the earth. I did took several wonderful weeks off in May for a relaxing vacation at home, but I’m back to work again and I’ve got another eArticle updated for you. This time, I took a look at the “Sponge & Brush Techniques For Stampers” eArticle and have it ready for you to read.

As with previously updated eArticles, I searched the whole eArticle for bad links. I found a few that had changed and added a couple new links to VSN blog posts that look at cleaning brushes and about acrylic paint down the drain. I also updated the VSN info at the end of the eArticle. The updated eArticle is now posted on VSN’s eArticle page.

If you access this eArticle by going to the site each time to read it online, then you’ll find the updated eArticle there to read the next time you visit. (If you read it inside your browser window and have looked at it recently, you may need to refresh the page to see the updated version.) If you have saved this eArticle to your own computer to read offline, be sure to go to the eArticle page today and re-download it so you’ll have access to all the eArticle’s resources the next time you read it.

While you are poking around online, be sure to also check out my blog, Birdseed & Binoculars! This one is not about stamping, but if you also enjoy watching birds, I think you’ll like it.

I am reviewing all the eArticles in VSN’s eArticle Library to make sure each one is still up to date. I hope to get at least one done each week or so, so watch for more updated eArticles in coming weeks. I started with a few of the most popular eArticles and am now working through them in no particular order. I’ll make a note on the eArticle page next to each updated eArticle and I’ll post a note here too, so you’ll know when each one is done. If you have a request that I do any particular eArticle sooner rather than later, please leave a comment below.

Brayer Techniques For Stampers eArticle Updated

Brayer Techniques eArticle Cover

I’ve got another VSN eArticle updated for you. This time I picked Brayer Techniques for Stampers. Brayers are deceptively simple tools. There is just SO MUCH that can be done with a brayer. For example, you can use ink, paint, glue or water, all with a brayer or even use it dry. I’ll bet this eArticle has a few techniques you hadn’t thought of trying. Be sure to check it out!

I went through the whole eArticle and found some links that had moved or disappeared. I fixed all of those, tracking down the new locations, deleting a few and adding a couple new ones, plus added a few product links that you might find helpful. One link to a video had disappeared but I found an alternative video on the topic. I also tweaked the text here and there and updated the VSN info at the end.  The updated eArticle is now posted on VSN’s eArticle page.

This is another eArticle update that has so many fixes that you really should be sure to get the updated copy!

VSN Metal & Faux Metal Techniques eArticle Cover

I’ve got another VSN eArticle updated for you. The eArticle I chose to do this time, Metal & Faux Metal Techniques, is one of the oldest in the eArticle Library and the links in it to external websites needed a lot of work. Many had moved or disappeared. I fixed all of those, tracking down the new locations, deleting a few and adding a couple new ones. I also tweaked the text here and there where I thought I could make it better and updated the VSN info at the end.  The updated eArticle is now posted on VSN’s eArticle page.

Specialty Card Folds eArticle Updated

Specialty Card Folds
VSN’s Specialty Card Folds eArticle

I think of all the eArticles I wrote for VSN, this one is the one I’m most proud of. It covers a ton of different card folds to get you out of the single-fold-card rut. But it’s not just a string of card directions. It’s all about explaining how each card works with lots suggestions for creating variations by doing things like cutting or folding the card just a little differently. You can make most of the cards in any of several different card sizes using measurement charts I provide, but I also explain what you need to do to create your own custom size if you like. It’s very cool. It’s also the the most downloaded eArticle in VSN’s eArticle Library, so it’s not just me that likes it!

I just checked all of the links inside the Specialty Card Folds eArticle and found a couple going to external internet sites that needed a tweak (including a YouTube video that is no longer available.)  I’ve fixed these and also updated some of the info about VSN at the end. The updated eArticle is now posted on VSN’s eArticle page.

If you access this eArticle by going to the site each time to read it online, then you’ll find the updated eArticle there to read the next time you visit. And if you haven’t yet read this eArticle, get it today so you can make some really cool multi-fold cards!
