Stamped Koi Card From Tomorrow’s New eArticle

Stamped Koi Card

The new EXTRA eArticle I’ve been working on should be ready to post tomorrow afternoon. (I’ve got the pdf version just about done and will spend tomorrow morning converting the file to create the epub and mobi versions of the eArticle.)

This is one of the cards I created for the eArticle. The koi fish are from Mostly Animals and the text paper is from Silver Crow Creations. The fish panel was colored with colored pencils and alcohol ink markers.

Be sure to check back tomorrow for the completed eArticle! ~Nancie

Stamping Poison Dart Frogs

Poison Dart Frog Stamping

Today I am stamping poison dart frogs (Rubberstampede) many times. Why you ask? Aha! That would be telling! Ok, I’ll give you a hint. I’m finishing up an EXTRA eArticle that I plan to post on VSN’s eArticle Library Page later this week. The frogs will be helping me show you something that I think you’ll really like. So be sure to check back later in the week! ~Nancie

VSN eArticles: pdf vs epub vs mobi Version?

Ok, I know that this post is geeky, but if you are confused as to which format of VSN eArticle to download, I think you’ll find it helpful, so please give it a shot.

Most of VSN’s eArticles are available in three versions: pdf, epub and mobi (Kindle). Whether these file types mean anything to you may depend on your personal computer savvy and what type(s) of computer, phone, tablet or eReader you use. For those who might not know a pdf from an epub, here are a few screen shots from the different versions to help you better understand what the heck this all means and how to choose the best version for you. (Note: All of these “screenshots” are actually photos of the eArticle on my 7″ Galaxy Tab 7.0 Tablet.)

pdf eArticle on Tablet

PDF Version: This is page 16 from the pdf version of VSN’s most recent eArticle, “Specialty Card Folds”. Notice a few things here. Each page of the eArticle is laid out in a landscape orientation designed to fit neatly and completely on your desktop or laptop computer screen without a lot of scrolling around. Notice too that this version has permanent page numbers because what is on page 16 (in this case) will stay on page 16 no matter how much you might increase the text size.

What Have I Been Doing Lately?

Tablet with Metal eArticleIf you haven’t checked in with me in the past year since the VSN print magazine ceased publishing, you might wonder what I’ve been up to. Well, I can’t seem to get stamping out of my system and when something is in my system, I write about it. So for the past year, I’ve been writing about stamping and posting monthly stamping eArticles on the eArticles page of VSN’s website.

If you take a look at the eArticle page, you might wonder why I chose to create these stamping articles as downloadable files instead of just posting them on a website page or even here in the blog. It’s even possible that the idea of choosing from the three files types might freak you out a little bit. But give it a try and I think you’ll agree that this really is a very cool way to read about stamping topics online. Here’s why: Continue reading What Have I Been Doing Lately?
