What Have I Been Doing Lately?

Tablet with Metal eArticleIf you haven’t checked in with me in the past year since the VSN print magazine ceased publishing, you might wonder what I’ve been up to. Well, I can’t seem to get stamping out of my system and when something is in my system, I write about it. So for the past year, I’ve been writing about stamping and posting monthly stamping eArticles on the eArticles page of VSN’s website.

If you take a look at the eArticle page, you might wonder why I chose to create these stamping articles as downloadable files instead of just posting them on a website page or even here in the blog. It’s even possible that the idea of choosing from the three files types might freak you out a little bit. But give it a try and I think you’ll agree that this really is a very cool way to read about stamping topics online. Here’s why:

Offline Reading: With downloadable files, you can read the article anytime and anywhere, regardless of whether you have an internet connection. You can save the file to your computer, whether it is a desktop computer, a laptop, a tablet or an eReader. Or you can print the pdf version if you prefer a paper copy.

Saving Shelf Space: At the peak of stamping’s popularity, there got to be so many stamping magazines that if you bought them all, you’d find yourself running out of shelf space to store them all! But these eArticles can be stored on your own computer or saved to a CD, DVD or flash drive, letting you use that shelf for stamps and other supplies!

Professionally Written In-Depth Articles: The eArticles are in-depth articles just like the articles I used to write for the “Experimentation” section in VSN’s print magazine. The articles are thoroughly researched, have tons of info, how-to photos and sample art and even include clickable links to more inspiration on the topic found throughout the internet.

Pages Formatted for Your Screen: Some online articles are great but you have to fiddle around with your browser controls to adjust the text size or see all of the page. Often there will be ugly pop up ads and other distracting bits on either side or right in the middle of the text flow. But with VSN’s eArticles, the pages are designed to view comfortably on your computer screen. The pdf version has a landscape format that is great for desktop monitors, laptop screens and large tablets and even some smaller tablets. The epub version is great for tablets where you have an epub reader app that lets you adjust the text size and reflow the text to fit your screen size. The Kindle mobi version does the same except on Kindle eReaders (best on a color eReader like Kindle Fire.)

It’s Free! You might wonder if these eArticles are so darn good, then why are they free? Don’t you get what you pay for? Well, the reason that most of the eArticles are free for you to read is that most are sponsored by some pretty wonderful stamping related small businesses. You can see what they offer inside the eArticles.

Here are the full stamping eArticles available as of this post. Click on any of the thumbnails below to learn more about that eArticle and find out how to download your own copy today!

  1. I am back giving stamping and papercrafting lessons at several Sr. centers, local libraries and
now a new assisted living facility. Have kept all the VSN magazines from you and others and
refer to the back issues for patterns and directions for those who have never done any of the
arts and crafts and maybe for those who have but not in a long time. Thanks for all. Marge
