Order & Subscription Policies

This column covers VSN pricing and shipping policies.

In the US:

Current Issue (a.k.a. "sample") = $4*
1 yr Subsription (12 issues) = $36*
2 yr Subscription (24 issues) = $62*
*If you live in Maryland, add 6% Sales Tax.

VSN is unusual in the stamping world as it is a MONTHLY publication. There are 12 issues per year, so you get twice the inspiration and a monthly stamp fix!

Back Issues Shipped within the US:
1 - 4 back issues = $4 each;
5 -39 back issues = $3 each (25% off!);
40 or more back issues= $2 each (50% off!);
*In Maryland, add 6% Sales Tax to your total.

Back Issues: For all quantity discounts (back issue orders), all copies must ship to the same address at the same time. Back issues purchased via credit card will usually be shipped within 48 hours unless the issue needs to be reprinted (rare.) Please allow 5-6 weeks for any mail order paid by check that includes back issues.

Note: VSN's Online shopping cart does not list back issues individually. Instead you order by quantity level and will need to type in the back issues you want at check-out. So you will need to choose back issues using the Back Issues page here, write them down or use the Back Issue Checkoff Form and THEN go to the shopping cart site to order back issues by quantity.

Canada: $39 US funds for one year subscription. Current issue or Back Issue = $4 US funds. Prices include First Class or Priority shipping to Canada. (Visa/MC/Discover, Check drawn on US bank or international/US money order.) No Paypal. Please note that while single issues usually cross the border fairly speedily, packages can be delayed by Canadian Customs for several weeks at times and Customs may tack on their own extra fees. This is beyond VSN's control.

Overseas: $74 US funds for one year subscription. Current issues = $6US funds. Back Issues = $6.25 US funds including shipping to addresses outside the US and Canada. (Visa/MC/Discover, Check drawn on US bank or international/US money order.) No Paypal. Please note that while single issues usually move reasonably quickly, packages can sometimes be delayed by Customs. Your country's Customs may tack on their own extra fees. This is beyond VSN's control.

"Sample" Issues: VSN does not offer free copies. If you order a "sample issue", you are ordering a current issue. This gives you the best idea of what future issues will look like. Want a back issue instead? See above. Back Issues Page

Subscriptions: Subscriptions (monthly) always begin with the current issue, unless I know you have it. In that case, subscription starts with next issue. (I will not begin a subscription or renewal with a back issue.) Your first copy is usually mailed within a few days. Orders received right around the time of the monthly mail-out may take a few extra days. Allow 3 weeks turnaround if you order by mail. Allow 5-6 weeks for all mail orders paid by check that include back issues. VSN issues are not returnable. All orders are final as of shipping date.

Gift Subscriptions: Include recipient's name and address, your name and any special message. I send the recipient a note with their first issue so that they will know it is from you (unless you ask me not to tell!)

Mailing Method: Mailed 1st class US mail, usually around the 19th - 21st. My aim is to get your issue to you around month's start, so I sometimes vary this schedule. Even 1st class mail can take a couple weeks; let me know if you haven't received it by the 11th. The January issue is mailed a week early to let you enjoy VSN over the holidays and allow VSN to close Christmas week through New Years.

Address Changes: Try to let me know your new address by the 15th so I can make the change before I print address labels for the new issue. Please provide your name, old address, new address and effective date of address change. Because VSN is mailed via First Class mail, your issue should follow you if your first class mail is forwarded. The post office forwards mail for several months, but don't wait to send your address change! Eventually they return your magazine with "forwarding time expired" . . . or the new occupant gets it! VSN is not responsible for lost issues if you have not provided the current address. I deliver to the address you have given.

Payment Method: Visa/MC/Discover, US Checks or Money Orders. No Paypal. I don't encourage people to send cash. If you must mail coins, tape them to an index card so they are not loose. Loose coins tear through envelope folds and get lost. Please do not ask me to bill you or to take a postdated check. If you want to use a credit card for payment you must either use VSN's Online Shopping Cart or use one of VSN's print-and-mail order forms (at left.). Credit card orders cannot be placed via email, over the phone or without a signed VSN order form.
